Therapy versus coaching
In both therapy and coaching, we work together to develop a goal that supports personal growth, self-discovery, and positive change. Both are confidential and non-judgmental, but there are several key differences that are important to understand when deciding what sort of help you are looking for.
Therapy focuses on healing and resolving root causes of distress, while coaching focuses on improving your life through identifying drivers for change and building skills that will maximize your potential.
Therapy can offer deeper exploration of unconscious cognitive processes and nuances, with focus on processing your past experiences, including your trauma, hardships, and any other negative experiences that may be contributing to your current problems. In coaching, while you may disclose information about your past, we will always stay grounded in the present and use that as data to understand conscious thought processes and behavioral patterns rather than deep exploration.
Coaching cannot address clinical mental health issues the way therapy can, and there is much more focus on bolstering your current strengths in order to improve your future outlook.

What are the next steps?
During your initial appointment, I will complete an intake with you.
I will ask you questions to gather comprehensive diagnostic information and get to know you better.
We will build a treatment plan together to set some goals of what you would like to get out of our time together.
At the end of this first appointment, we will discuss the frequency of future appointments and schedule your next session.
If you feel like we did not click, no worries! This happens! I am happy to help you find someone who may be better suited for your needs, or we can simply end there.

Rates Pledge
I offer personalized, compassionate therapy designed to meet your unique needs. By choosing private pay, we eliminate the barriers of insurance, giving you total privacy, full confidentiality, tailored care, and focused attention to meet your goals, at your pace, without compromise.
That said, I realize that everyone has access to varied financial resources, and that sometimes results in our health and wellness being the first things sacrificed to make ends meet. While I can’t promise I can make it work on your budget, I will try my best to work with you on coming up with a plan that works for both of us mutually.
Standard Rates
$100/session
I charge $100 for a standard 60 minute session
Minimum: 53 minutes
Maximum: 67 minutes
Sliding Scales
Income-Based
For qualifying clients, I offer income-based sliding scales.
Set percentage based on your disposable income
Subject to approval and determination of financial need
Flexibility
For qualifying clients, I offer flexibility with pricing sessions based on length of session
Min. 7 minutes, max. 22 minutes: $25
Min. 23 minutes, max. 37 minutes: $50
Min. 38 minutes, max 52 minutes: $75
Sessions longer than 53 minutes are charged at full price
